WOOD CLEANING

Wood maintenance is an on-going concern that can be hard to handle. However, the TRILOGY enables this cleaning process to be greatly improved and simplified. As the air pressure, media flow and media grade can be altered, the HELIX nozzle allows for gentle removal of surface contamination on smooth or carved surfaces, while leaving the surface prepared for re-coating.

As the TRILOGY system is extremely portable, jobs are much more accessible for contractors. Restoration of homes that are located on islands, for example, are traditionally very difficult jobs to perform as heavy sand pots and large compressors have to be transported by boat. As the TRILOGY package is very compact, these jobs are no longer faced with large barriers.

Many contractors in this industry utilize compressors that produces at least 185 CFM’s, this means two TRILOGY 28’s can be run off of the same compressor. This drastically increases performance levels, especially since the system is very easy to use and requires minimal experience.

Depending on the customers preferences, they may request more of a brushed look (soft grain removal) rather than a smooth surface. This can easily be achieved by increasing the air pressure to the gun. This technique is very popular in Italy and has started to become more popular in North America.

Traditional furniture restoration can be difficult to perform, depending on the complexity of design. Ornate furniture, for example, can be next to impossible to sand by hand as the wood carvings prohibits proper sanding techniques. Without fully removing the paint or stain, you run the risk of color bleeding. Even smooth surface sanding can be a taxing venture for some.

The helical vortex produced by the TRILOGY, enables its user to remove paint and stains from these deep crevasses that would have normally been unreachable. The air flow pattern also allows for more efficient surface cleaning as less time is required to clean the surface in comparison to traditional sand blasters (direct impact). Overall, this system drastically reduces the time on furniture restorations.

Using traditional methods for deck board cleaning like sanding is often difficult as wood warps over time causing concave or convex bends. When this occurs big orbital sanders or belt sanders leave areas of the wood left untouched. The corners of deck are also difficult for sanding equipment to reach. Contractors often have to use hand sanders to perform the finishing touches. The sides of deck boards have also traditionally been left untouched, as no sanding equipment can be used to effectively restore the surface. This can cause colour variation when you re-coat your deck. Depending on the amount of railings to clean, the contractor will simply replace the railing, which increases waste.

The TRILOGY can perform all of these tasks without switching equipment or replacing fixtures that are hard to restore. This improves the overall quality of the job and reduces the resources required to perform the same task.  

Fencing is another surface that has been traditionally hard to clean without damaging the surface. Many people use pressure washers to clean or to remove paint or stains. This method causes damage to the wood as it creates a “spiky hair” effect. This method also increases project times, as several days are required for drying to re-coat the surface. The TRILOGY allows for a clean surface without damaging the surface or wetting the surface, reducing project times by several days.

Shutter cleaning can be extremely time consuming to perform. Sometime layers of paint are applied because people do not have an effective way to remove the previous coatings. This can create problems as paint starts to peel off, creating uneven surfaces. Instead of replacing the shutters, the TRILOGY can be used to effectively remove the paint or stain on the wood surface.

Fire can cause unimaginable amounts of damage to any structure or sculpture. For the surfaces that managed to survive, the TRILOGY allows for gentle removal of soot that was created by the fire. With the creation of the helical vortex you are able to restore any object to its original glory not matter how flat or carved the wood surface is.

The TRILOGY allows for a chemical free method of graffiti removal on any type of wood surface. Depending on the type of wood, simply change the abrasive media and air pressure to effectively removal all paint from the surface.
